Seattle Reign FC announced on Thursday that the club has signed goalkeeper Maddie Prohaska for the 2025 NWSL season. The Auburn University graduate, who first joined the Reign as a non-roster invitee in January, becomes the club's third goalkeeper alongside Claudia Dickey and Cassie Miller.
“Since joining the club as a trialist this preseason, I’ve felt so welcomed in this professional environment,” said Prohaska in a team release. “The team culture here is unlike any other, and I’ve enjoyed working alongside the goalkeeper group. Looking forward to kicking off the season with our fans on March 15!”
Prohaska, 22, started in 96 matches over five years with the Auburn Tigers. Her 36 shutouts set the all-time school record and ranks third in Southeastern Conference history. She finished her Auburn career second in average goals allowed (0.93), sixth in saves (291) and seventh in save percentage (0.768). As a graduate senior in 2024, she recorded 12 clean sheets to tie the program’s single-season record.

Prior to playing collegiately, Prohaska played one year for Lakota West and won a state championship with her high school before playing club soccer with the Cincinnati Development Academy.
The Reign now have 28 signed players, with Sofia Huerta and Lily Woodham still on loan and Veronica Latsko out with a season-ending injury. All three do not count against the Reign's roster cap until their loan ends or their SEI status is removed. Ryanne Brown entered the preseason recovering from her ACL tear but is expected to be available later in the season for the Reign.
Fun fact: Prohaska's signing also means that the Reign have a Maddie/Madison available on every line.
